CONSUMER PRICES -- Chart. This AP digital embed chart shows the percentage change in consumer prices from the previous year, as measured by the Consumer Price Index, since 2010. In September, consumer prices rose 2.4%, down from August's 2.5% figure. Excluding food and energy, prices rose 3.3% from the previous year, up from August and still above the Federal Reserve's 2% inflation target. This chart is current as of Oct. 10, 2024, and will update monthly. Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics.
